Evening showers could not dampen the $60-a-ticket Dancing Under The Stars party held at Maryland Golf & Country Club. Although the annual event for club members and friends was moved indoors because of the rain, more than 70 people dined and then danced to the music of Oracle Band, based in Odenton.

Mom’s night out

Samantha Tuohy, 39, wanted to prove that mothers can be fashion-forward. When we spotted the stay-at-home mom from Bel Air at Dancing Under The Stars, she stood out from the crowd in her white, ethereal frock.

“I’m a mom by day trying to have fun at night,” she says, adding that her daughters are 3 and 6. “I try and please the girls by day and the husband at night. I wanted to look good for my husband. ” Tuohy also wanted to make sure she had the perfect outfit for her night out.

“I love the look of this,” she says about her ensemble. “It’s nice and flowy. You can dress up and dress down this dress. It’s fun to dance in.”

Tuohy — who described her style as “colorful, polished and feminine” — planned to spend the evening dancing and partying with friends.

“I just wanted to celebrate and have fun,” she adds with a laugh. “It was an evening without kids. I have a nice circle of friends.”
